6,189 meter Island peak was named by group of Eric Shipton’s in 1953 as the peak seems like an island in a sea of ice when we see from Dingboche. Again in 1953, the peak was named as Imja Tse. This climbing Island peak was tasted peak for training on the way to Everest expeditions by British team on 1953.

Tenzing Norgey Sherpa was one of the main members who successfully climbed on this peak. The Island peak is the part of south ridge of Lhotse Shar and main land form of half circle of cliffs that rise to the north of the summits of Nuptse Lhotse and Lhotse Shar. Cho polu and Makali mountain lies east side from Island climbing Peak. Baruntse, Amphu and Ama Dablam lie to the south.

Although the Island peak is trekking peak, some health and exercise is needed. Fallowing the Dodhkoshi river valley from Lukla crossing through Namche bazzar, Tengboche, Dingboche, you arrive the Is;and peak base Camp for climb this peak. The usual direction for climbing this peak is south east flank. Mainly difficult part is a varied rock and ice fence at an angle of around 45 degrees leading to the slim high point edge.

Day 01: Kathmandu arrival and trek homework [1,300m/4264ft]
You will be welcomed by representatives from Adventure Discovery Treks (ADT) on your arrival in Kathmandu airport. After your official work (visa etc inside the Kathmandu airport) look for our representative with an Adventure Discovery treks and expedition (p) Ltd show board at the arrival gate. You will be transmits at hotel of your requirements (depends on your interest) and you will visit our office, meet your trek leaders as well as other members and do ending preparations for the Island peak climbing. Day 02: A full day Kathmandu sightseeing tour and trek preparations
This day you will start a guided tour around Kathmandu chronological, and religious world heritage sites including historical Kathmandu durbar square, The holy Hindu’s Pashupati Nath temple, The popular Syambunath temple/ monkey temple, and A Buddhist holy place Bouddhanath stupa known as biggest Stupa in the planet. At the evening our manager gives you the details Island Peak climbing briefing as together with your climbing guide. At the same time please ask several questions that you would like to be clear. Day 03: Kathmandu – Lukla – Fakding [2,610m/8,561ft]: 4 hours walk
Right after breakfast at hotel you get transmits to domestic airport in Kathmandu to catch the flight to Lukla (2,800m/9,184ft) where from our trek starts. The 35 minutes flight to Tenzing- Hillary airport Lukla is in dramatic landscape and surrounded by high mountains peaks. Day 04: Phakding to Namche Bazaar [3,440m/11,283ft] 6 hours walk
Crossing beautiful pine trees throughout the jungle the trek leads along the Dudh Koshi stream crossing many suspension bridges firstly we take look stunning Mt. Thamserku (6,618m). Passing Benkar, Chumoa, Manjo we arrive the check post at Jorsalle of Sagarmatha national park. After we cross the Jorsalle before arrive Namche the trail climbs through the jungle until we arrive at meeting point of the Dhudh koshi and Bhote Koshi Rivers. After ending steps for 1:30 hours we get first top view of Mt. Everest charming over the Lhotse and Nuptse edge. Afterwards we hike to Namche the main trading village of Sherpas, Stay overnight

Day 05 : Acclimatization day at Namche Bazaar – Around 4 hours hike
This is not rest day but the fixed acclimatization day means we take either hike to Thame/Khumjung or hike to Everest View Hotel to get used to for an another day. Physical situation professional advised us to stay energetic and moving throughout the acclimatization day too an alternative of being inactive. This Namche bazaar is the major center of the Everest area where we can found administration offices, ATMs, Internet, supermarkets, restaurants. On our a extra day in Namche you also gets a chance to explore Tourist Visitor center near to headquarter of the Everest national park where you can watch variety of things connected to the first Everest climbers, Sherpa’s civilization and study about the plants and creature’s life of Everest area. The hike to khumjung through Syangboche airstrip offers magnificent views of Himalayan range. At khumjung we also explore Hillary school at the same time. Now we trek back to Namche. Stay overnight at same lodge.

Day 06 : Namche Bazaar to Tengboche [3860m/12,661ft] – 6 hours walk
We begin our the Island Peak climbing on nepal journey to Pangboche taking pleasure if outstanding observations of Mt. Everest (8,848m), Mt. Nuptse (7,864m), Mt. Lhotse (8,501m), Mt. Lhotse Shar (8,393m), Mt. Ama Dablam (6,814m) as well as other many peaks including Mt. Thamserku Central (6,618m). Day 07 : Tengboche to Dingboche [4360m/14,301ft] – 4 hours walk
Starting trek after the morning breakfast through Pangboche and passing several chortens, Mani walls and small villages also enjoying the Himalayan view we trek this day Dingboche. As we reach the Orsho from there we will not be meeting any trees and green hills as we are getting close to Everest Base Camp. Trek continues through the open valley to Dingboche. We will take short walk to Pheriche and will back to stay overnight Dingboche local lodge.

Day 08: Dongboche to Chhukung [4760m/15613ft]
The short day for 3 hours walks to starts with breakfast and enjoying with Ama Dablam Mountain in right side to Chhukung. The trail is gently goes up from Dingboche on wide valley without green tress and forests. We reach Chhukung for lunch and rest of the day as rest time. Stay overnight.

Day 09: Chhukung to Island peak base Camp [5200m/17056ft] 5 hours
The trail from Chhuking guides quite vertical hiking south then rotating east to the major row of the gorge. It then storms slong or underneath the south side of the valley from the Lhotse Glacier. We carry on little enjoyable walking along a riverside. The way to the Amphu Lapcha lies to the southeast. A cross road through Imja and Lhotse glacier base show the ways to a broad vale to the south west edge of Island peak. Stay overnight at Island peak Base Camp.

Day 10: Base Camp to High camp of Island peak [5,600m/18,368ft] 5 hours
This day as we are in high altitude slowly we shift to Island peak high Camp. Trail guides up further that base camp for more than a few hundred meters previous to arresting off left up the sheer hillside. Originally dirty, the trail twists to land before becoming boulder scattered. Then we climb the hill again path goes steep rock channel. Overnight stay high Camp.

Day 11: High Camp to Peak summit and Back to Chhukung. 9 hours
Let’s began our climbing a very early morning as winds blows at day time at the top. We start the rocky part. This part is not hard part but short-short rock steps to climb. Those guides to an exciting and uncovered navigate onto the muzzle of the Island Peak glacier, the leader (Guide) fix the rope wherever needed then a step towards snow grades goes ahead on to the top edge. Then we back down to Chhukung and stay overnight

Day 12: Chhukung – Pangboche – Tengboche – Namche Bazaar [3,440m/11,283ft] 6 – 7hours walk
We trek down from Chhukung to Dingboche to Orso by crossing Khumbu Khola and catch again the green forests of Rhododendron and Juniper trees. We either will have our lunch at Tenhboche or keep trek to Phunki Tenga. After lunch we clomb again to Sansa through forests. Then our trek becomes easy and flat to Namche. Enjoing the view of mountains again we are hurried to take hot shower bath and sleep in comfort bed in Namche. Stay Overnight at Namche

Day 13 : Namche to Lukla (2,800m/9,184ft)
The trail leads steeply down from Namche to Jorsalle through the pine trees and rocky land. After crossing suspension bridge of Dhud koshi we reach the Jorsalle check post to check out our permits and TIMS. By today the day will be warm and cozy. Crossing Manjoo village to fakding we break here for lunch and continue our trek to Lukla. The final walk close to lukla from Phakding is steep up. Overnight at Lukla

Day 14: Fly to Kathmandu
The long Island peak climbing trip ends with flight to Kathmandu from Lukla. The early morning flight transmits us at Kathmandu airport. You can take rest and relax at the hotel. If you are interested to buy some gifts from Nepal to your friends explore the shops nearby hotel or make effort the main tourist hub Thamel where you find any desirable things. If you want to explore other places of Kathmandu please manage time for that today!

Day 15: Final Departure to your own destinations
Your Nepal trip has come at the end as this is your last day. There is nothing to do but you can manage pictures. Still if you have any more time and desire to explore any place you like please do let us know. Normally 3 hours before your flight time to get airport is required in Nepal. So we transmit you to Kathmandu Airport. Have wonderful life and hope to see you again in Nepal.
