Day 01: Arrival day at Kathmandu and transfer to Hotel
When you finish your visa processing work at Kathmandu airport please look for our representative with an Adventure Discovery show board on arrival gate. Then you will be transmitting to Kathmandu Hotel and Gokyo Chola pass Everest Base camp trekking briefing will be given. Stay overnight at Kathmandu Hotel.
Day 02: Fly to Lukla and trek to Fakding (2610m)
Normally an early morning flight takes us to Lukla airport where we meet our Sherpa porters. The Everest Gokyo Chola pass to base camp trek starts from Lukla fallowing Dhudh koshi river to fakding for about 4 hours walk first day. During walking we cross Choplung, Thado Koshi and Ghat village.
Day 03: Phakding to Namche (3440m)
As we ahead today to the main Sherpa heart land of Namche first walk throughout the think forests crossing suspension bridges at the Dhudh Koshi Rivers passingbanker, chumao and manjoo village we finally arrive at Jorsalle National park check post. Then we go ahead and meets two Rivers meeting point. The final two hours ToNamche Bazaar is steep hike through the jungle. Here we have chance to view the Mt. Everest first time on the steep walk. Stay overnight at Namche.
Day 04: Namche bazaar to Phorche Tanga (3680m)
From namche ascent the hill to Khumjung and go down west of the town down the wide valley leading to the Dhudh Koshi. Here is choice of routes, the yak train which climbs, softly but traverses a long distance around the edge or the vertical stairs like made of rocks entrenched in the thin fissure of a great boulder. The two different trails soon rejoin and carry on towards a huge Chorten on the edge top at 3973meter. This ridge decends from Khumbila, from the ridge at Mong the trail descends in a series of steep switchbacks down a sandy slope to the Dhudh Koshi. After passing the bridge we reach a small Sherpa town Phortse.
Day 05: PhortseTanga to Dole
The Gokyo Everest Base Camp via Chola pass trek trail climbs steeply out of the valley throughout Rhododendron jungles which presents way to aromatic stands of juniper and large conifers at higher elevations. The trail crosses the settlements of Tonga and Gyele (3,960m) to Dole. The view of Khubila and Tawache (6,542m) is marvelous of the day.
Day 06: Dole to Machhermo (4470m)
Today firstly trek goes up via Lhabarma (4220m) to Luza (4,360m) , the trail is steep up in most places as it hikes through scrub to Lhabarma. Fallowing high above the river and side of valley passing sandy spurs to reach Machhermo at 4,410m, Stay over night
Day 07: Machhermo to Gokyo Valley (4,790m)
Around Machhermo today the trek climbs a ridge for an outstanding outlooks both down the gorge to Khantega and up towards Cho Oyu (8,153m). Further then the edge the valley extends as track go by side to side Pangram at 4,390m. We go down to the River bank before start the climb up to the fetal moraine of the Ngozumpa glacier. It is vertical scale on the moraine afterwards the path heights out as it fallows the valley past second lake. A bit further up we arrive to Gokyo valley for overnight stay.
Day 08: Exploration day at Gokyo lake valley
Today we are main day of Gokyo valley Everest base camp via Chola pass trekking as we are Gokyo valley. An early morning we climb to Gokyo Ri (5,463m) where from the Mt. Everest (8,848m), Mt Cho Oyu (8,153m), Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Makalu and other peaks are visible. We then come back to Gokyo valley and if we have power still we may hike to fifth Lake where from the view of Mt. Everest is amazing. Back to Gokyo valley for night stay
Day 09: Gokyo valley to Chola Pass (5368m) to Dzonglha (5,420m)
The trail goes down from Gokyo valley passing the second lake, about half trail between the first and second lakes we take the east moraine to Chola Pass (Chhugyuma) at 5,368m passing the village called Dragnak and hiking the steep up. The Chola Pass is not difficult but it is steep up and involves a glacier on the eastern side. As we arrive the at top we meet small frozen lake and trek goes gently down for short time and steep down crossing rocky stones to Dzonglha for overnight stay.
Day 10: Dzonglha to Lobuche (4,930m)
Keep on trek along the moraine of the glacier; with the views of kala Patthar (5,545m) and Mt. Pumori (7,165m) we walk today high above the Pheriche village. Preetu normal day today takes about 4 hours walking. Important day also for acclimatization, Rest of the day we may take simple hike around.
Day 11: Lobuche to Gorek Shep (5,180m) and hike to Everest Base Camp (5,364m)
Fallowing on trekking along the left side Khumbu Glacier passing Pyramid post viewing the north side Mt. Everest and Pumori and Khumbutse with Kala Patthar (5,545m), after hiking steep up to stony trail we catch the first view of kala patthar. As soon as we arrive Gorek Shep we keep on hiking to Everest Base camp passing several up and downs. But we won’t be seeing Mt. Everest from base camp however the Mt. pumori, Khumbutse and Khumbu glacier with ice fall makes it worth to go on. Then we back to Gorekshep to overnight stay.
Day 12: Gorek Shep- Hike to Kala Patthar (5,545m) – Pheriche (4,280m)
Early morning hiking required to get kalapatthar which is Black rock in Nepali to see amazing Everest Himalayan range including Mt. Everest (8,848m) Mt. Pumori (7,165m), Mt. Lhotse (8,501m), Mt. Nuptse (7,864m), Mt. Ama Dablam, Tawache peak, Cholatse peak, Lingtren peak, with hundreds of white peaks we will see. Sitting on black rock and enjoying views of one massive to another then we trek down to Gorek shep and trek down to Pheriche crossing Lobuche, and Dhugla.
Day 13: Pheriche to Namche (3,440m)
As we go on from Pheriche crossing bridge of Khumbu Khola first we trek down to Orsho and keep on down trail to Pangboche and cross the small bridge again and enter to jungles. We climb to Tengboche for lunch and steeply down to Phungi Tenga. Our trek leads up to Sansa and arrives at high above the Doudh koshi River. Passing several turning we arrive to Namche for overnight stay.
Day 14: Trek down to Lukla from Namche (2,800m)
As we start trek from Namche we walk steeply down through the pine jungles until we arrive to cross the Dhudh Koshi tall Bridge then we arrive at Jorsalle and check post and we cross the Lovely Sherpa village Manjoo to Fakding for lunch. Our trek keeps on Chaurikharka and climbs up before arrive at Lukla gate again through the forest.
Day 15: Lukla to Kathmandu on morning flight.
The Nepal Everest base camp with Kala Patthar trek journey has come at the end today as you take flight to Kathmandu. Have rest and relax at Kathmandu Hotel. Share your experience with us.
